Arizona Corporation Commission 

Research an HOA's annual filings to see their Assets and who the directors are. The statutory agent, usually the management company, is also listed.        

Maricopa County Assessor 

Research ownership of a property or to see what property someone or HOA owns. Common areas are listed  as well as individual lots. You can also see if the property taxes are paid.

The same information as provided on the regular assessor site, but with very useful maps.

Maricopa County Recorder

Here you can research liens, judgments, titles, deeds, CC&Rs, etc. You can enter an HOA name as a business to see liens and such for your HOA or yourself.

Arizona Revised Statutes - Planned Communities - Title 33 - Chapter 16 

State laws that govern Planned Communities - Single Family HOA communities are governed by these statues.

Arizona Revised Statutes - Non-Profit Corporation - Title 10 Chapter 19

HOAs are Non-Profit Corporations and are governed by Title 10 also. In some cases these laws override CC&Rs, but in many cases they only apply if the CC&Rs are "silent" on the topic. Chapters 30, 31 and 39 are commonly used.

Community Association Institute 

CAI offers resources and training for HOAs and Community Managers. Their M100 class can be taken home study, CD, or in a classroom. It provides a great base for any board member or community manager.

The Leadership Centre

TLC is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in neighborhoods and communities through a collaboration of private and public partnerships that engage residents in leadership education and training. Based in the East Valley, it is a great resource to HOAs in Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler and Queen Creek.
